Mommy Makeover

Many new and experienced moms feel that their bodies aren’t as attractive, slim, or toned as they were before the birth of their children. Unfortunately, while pregnancy gives you the gift of your child, it can also rob you of confidence in your body. You may find that you have excess skin, sagging breasts, and loose muscles. The Mommy Makeover is designed to firm, lift, and enhance your body and restore youthful contours as well as your confidence.

Do you...

  • Desire larger, firmer breasts?
  • Envy other women’s flat, toned tummies?
  • Have difficulty eliminating areas of excess fat?

The Vectra 3D imaging system is used to preview your possible breast enhancement results. The system takes a before photo of your breasts and then enhances it, showing you what you may look like with various sizes and types of implants. This helps you better select the appropriate implant type and size that will allow you to achieve the aesthetics you desire.

What Makes a Mommy Makeover?

What Makes a Mommy Makeover ?

arrowBreast Enhancement

Breast enhancement procedures can restore youthful, voluminous breasts and help women feel more attractive in their bodies.

  • Breast Augmentation uses implants to increase breast size and reshape breasts that may have lost volume after pregnancy. You may choose saline or silicone implants placed either over or under the pectoral muscles.
  • Breast Lift surgery is performed to correct breast sagging that commonly occurs after nursing. In many cases, the breasts are of adequate size but simply lack elasticity, firmness, and perkiness. Excess tissue is removed, the nipples and areolas are positioned higher on the breasts, and internal sutures lift the breasts so they have a more youthful projection.
  • Combination Breast Augmentation and Lift can be performed for women who desire a size increase but also have mild to significant breast drooping. Combining a lift with your augmentation can help prevent weak tissue complications such as bottoming out and double-bubble deformity.

arrowLiposuction

Liposuction helps slim your silhouette and achieve a smooth, toned body contour. Clothing will fit better, you’ll feel lighter, and you’ll look amazing.

  • During pregnancy, women store fat that is often difficult to eliminate through diet and exercise. This can lead to you feel flabby and unattractive.
  • Liposuction removes this unwanted fat. Tiny incisions are created at the liposuction site, and a small hollow tube (cannula) is inserted. The cannula vacuum sucks out the fatty tissue.
  • Liposuction in commonly used to correct stubborn fat deposits on areas like the abdomen, hips, thighs, back, and buttocks.

arrowAbdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty, commonly known as tummy tuck surgery, achieves a more slender and toned abdominal contour so moms can finally rid themselves of their stubborn belly pooch.

  • Diet and exercise can do very little to restore elasticity to skin and muscles that have stretched rapidly due to pregnancy.
  • Abdominoplasty tightens the abdominal muscles and eliminates excess skin along with the stretch marks on the lower abdomen that often develop during pregnancy.
  • An incision is created that runs horizontally along the lower abdomen. Through this incision, the abdominal muscles are stitched together and excess skin is removed.

arrowBody Lift

Body lift surgery tightens the lower portion of your body and may also create an improved buttock contour.

  • Your abdomen isn’t the only area that can stretch and become saggy after pregnancy; the skin around the hips and lower back can also become loose and unsightly.
  • Circumferential abdominoplasty removes excess skin from the midriff, love handles, and lower back.
  • The incision runs the length of the lower abdomen, around the hips, and towards your back. Any resulting scarring can be hidden by your clothing and will likely fade over time.

arrowButtock Enhancement

Although not a traditional component of the Mommy Makeover, Dr. Agullo has incorporated the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure due to high patient demand. The BBL can create buttocks that appear rounder and perkier.

  • Even rigorous butt exercises can fail to achieve a shapely, lifted, and voluminous backside.
  • With the BBL, liposuctioned fat is meticulously prepared and then injected into the buttocks to provide better contour.
  • The BBL procedure can be combined with buttock implants for more significant volume change, especially in thin patients.

Prepare for Your Surgery

You should diet and exercise leading up to your surgery. This is to ensure that you have strength in your muscles and lose the needed weight. A Mommy Makeover is not a weight-loss program. It is important that you maintain your steady goal weight for at least six months prior to your surgery. Losing or gaining additional weight after your procedure can alter your results.

Take time off from work or social obligations. You should arrange to have 10 to 14 days of downtime after your procedure.

Make arrangements for an alternative caregiver. You will be extremely limited in what actions you can perform in the days following your surgery, including limited movement and limited lifting of heavy objects (like your children).

Eat healthy food the day prior to your surgery for energy, but do NOT eat or drink for eight hours before your surgery because of the anesthesia.

Mommy Makeover FAQ

arrowWhat is the recovery period like after a Mommy Makeover?

Immediately following your Mommy Makeover, you will experience bruising, swelling, redness, and some pain. All pain can be controlled with medication prescribed by your doctor. The first few days you should walk every few hours to prevent blood clots from forming. You shouldn’t lift heavy objects or strain your body during the first two weeks following your procedure. Your swelling should begin to subside after two weeks, and mild swelling may remain for up to four months.

arrowHow much does a Mommy Makeover cost?

The Mommy Makeover isn’t covered by insurance companies. The cost of each Mommy Makeover can vary dramatically depending on the number and extent of the procedures performed. Geographic location, facility fees, anesthesia fees, and other associated fees can all affect the cost of your Mommy Makeover. Estimates can range between $13,500 - $30,000.

arrowWhat will my scarring be like as a result of my Mommy Makeover?

Most Mommy Makeover surgeries leave minimal scarring that is likely to fade over time. All incisions are strategically placed so that the resulting scars can be easily hidden by clothing, underwear, or a bathing suit. If you underwent a C-section, your incision can be made at the same incision site to eliminate extra scarring.

arrowCan I have children after my Mommy Makeover?

No part of the Mommy Makeover procedure will prevent you from having children. However, it is advised to not have additional pregnancies following your Mommy Makeover. Pregnancy or weight gain after your procedure can alter your results and may necessitate secondary surgery to restore adequate results.

arrowCan I combine multiple procedures at once?

The Mommy Makeover is designed to save as much time as possible. Multiple procedures may be performed in conjunction with each other. The most common combinations are breast augmentation/breast lift and liposuction/abdominoplasty.
