Women take pride in their breasts, and when your breasts look different than you are used to or would like them to look, your confidence in yourself can be negatively affected. Your breasts can go through many changes throughout your life, whether from the effects of pregnancy and breastfeeding or genetics or even simply aging. One change that may occur is an increase in the size of the areola. This change can make your breasts look disproportionate to each other as well as to your whole body. Are you feeling self-conscious about how your breasts look? Are you concerned that your areolas take up more of the breast than you’d like? Dr. Agullo can address various imperfections and restore your breast proportions.
What Can an Areola Reduction Correct?
Are They Too Large?
Areolas that are bigger than 4.7 cm can look large on an average-sized woman. Though it’s common for postpartum women to have larger areolas, after your hormones and weight have returned to normal, the sizes of your areolas should return to how they were before pregnancy. However, this is not always the case. If you relate to this, an areola reduction surgery can restore their proportion to the rest of your bust.
Are They Curving?
Sometimes, additional breast tissue can begin to push forward, which causes the areola to look like a small dome. Dr. Agullo can address this by removing some of the underlying breast tissue to restore the areola’s natural shape.
Are They Uneven?
It is not uncommon for one areola to be larger or higher than the other. The cause could be genetic or from uneven engorgement during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The areolas can be made more symmetrical with the same areola reduction technique.
Have They Changed Shape?
Areolas that become misshapen can be adjusted through an areola reduction. Dr. Agullo can reshape an areola so that its shape is more circular and symmetrical to the other breast.
Are They Slightly Low?
There areola reduction technique can help lift the breast and nipple-areola complex at the same time. A lift between 1 and 4 cm can be achieved. This centers the nipple-areola complex on the breast mound.
Are They Abnormal?
The areola can sometimes develop color changes and texture changes. If the areola has begun to look different, a surgical procedure can help to restore their natural appearance.
Improve Your Confidence
During a sexual experience, the last thing you want to be thinking about is the way your areolas look. By improving the shape, size, and feeling of the areola, you can be confident in the way your body looks. Not only will you be more satisfied with intimate encounters, but you will feel confident in your everyday life.
What to Expect
Dr. Agullo will remove the outer edges of the areola so that they are reduced to your desired size. He then will pull the skin to the new edge and stitch it closed. He may also place stitches deeper in the tissue to prevent the areola from widening during the healing process. Once your stitches dissolve, your areolas will be in better proportion to your breasts, and you will find confidence in your body once again!

Cellulite can mar even the most in-shape figure. The telltale dimples of cellulite are apparent to anyone who looks at you and can prevent you from feeling comfortable wearing shorts, skirts, and even bathing suits. If you’re hiding your body because you’re frustrated with the appearance of cellulite, then you should consider Cellfina®, the only FDA-cleared, minimally invasive procedure to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Not only does it have high satisfaction rates from patients, but it’s also been proven to rid your body of cellulite for at least three years. Dr. Agullo offers it as part of his MedSpa, where you can rejuvenate your body.
What Is Cellulite?
Cellulite shows itself as small dimples across the skin. Most recognized on the thighs, it can also appear on the buttocks and abdomen. Cellulite is caused when fat deposits protrude through the bands of connective tissue beneath the skin. It’s more common in women due to differences in the way that fat and tissue are distributed throughout a woman’s body, though cellulite can be seen on men’s bodies, as well.
How Can Cellfina® Help?
Cellfina® works by addressing the connective bands that are located beneath the skin. As these bands are pulled taut, they pull the skin down, causing the dimpling effect that everyone recognizes as cellulite. The Cellfina® treatment severs these bands, releasing the tension and smoothing out the surface of the skin.
The procedure is performed in Dr. Agullo’s office and does not require any anesthesia. At the beginning of the treatment, he will mark the targeted areas of cellulite and give an injection of a numbing agent to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure. He will then make a series of injections along the treatment sites. The process will take less than one hour, and you will have smooth skin once again!
Results and Recovery
You will begin to notice results within three days of your procedure, but the area continues to improve over time. In clinical studies, results have lasted as long as three years, but Cellfina® is so confident in the procedure that if your cellulite returns within the first year, they will cover an additional treatment for you!
You will experience a mild recovery with this type of procedure. You should take it easy the first full day after your treatment, but you can resume your normal, daily activities after that time. Swelling and bruising are normal and temporary, though bruising often subsides later than swelling. Any discomfort you may feel can be treated with over-the-counter pain medication.
For more information about how Cellfina® can benefit you, schedule your consultation with Dr. Agullo by calling our office at (915) 590-7900. We look forward to working with you!

When you look at yourself in the mirror, do you notice that your brow line has become creased? Is your forehead covered in wrinkles? Do your droopy eyelids make you seem tired or sad? Sun exposure, smoking, genetics, and aging can change the appearance of your brow line, which ultimately affects your overall facial balance. Looking old and tired is no one’s goal, but luckily, there are solutions available to help restore your naturally youthful appearance. Dr. Agullo can perform a brow lift to lift your brows, smooth out your skin, and leave you looking rejuvenated and refreshed!
What Can a Brow Lift Address?
A brow lift is focused on the upper half of the face. The procedure will widen your upper eyelids, smooth out forehead creases, and reposition your eyebrows higher on the face to avoid drooping. All of these changes will refresh the tired and worn appearance on your face, which will leave you feeling younger and more vibrant than ever.
What to Expect
There are numerous techniques that Dr. Agullo uses during a brow lift procedure. When you meet with him for a pre-surgery consultation, he will examine your facial structure and discuss your treatment goals. He will determine which technique will benefit you the most and go over what you can expect during your procedure.
Temporal Brow Lift
This technique focuses more on your brow line and its contour and is often done as part of a facelift procedure. It’s also known as brow reshaping or browplasty. The resulting pull is up and out, which most patients feel is more natural and youthful than other techniques. This is Dr. Agullo’s preferred technique.
Endoscopic Brow Lift/Forehead Lift
This is a minimally invasive procedure. Dr. Agullo uses a camera inserted under your skin. It means smaller incisions, less scarring, and a quicker recovery.
Dr. Agullo will raise the eyebrows making your brow line look less furrowed and more relaxed.
Coronal Brow Lift
With this technique, Dr. Agullo focuses on elevating your drooping eyebrow. Your incision will be made behind your hairline, from ear to ear.
Direct Brow Lift
This procedure will adjust your eyebrows when misalignment has developed due to aging. Dr. Agullo will move the position of the eyelids higher.
Regardless of the technique used, Dr. Agullo’s patients report feeling happier and more confident in their appearance following their surgeries.
A Combination of Procedures
Brow lift surgery does not have to be done in isolation. If you’re looking to truly freshen up your appearance, Dr. Agullo is skilled at combining procedures to give you the best possible results. Done in tandem with procedures such as neck lift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, or others, a brow lift can dramatically improve your facial appearance.

Are you unhappy with the look of your lower face and neck? Are you embarrassed by the sagging skin below your chin? Does it make you self-conscious about your profile? As people age, skin loses elasticity, and it is highly visible on your neck. While this is typical, it can also cause you to look older than you are. It can also cause a lack of confidence in your appearance. However, neck lift surgery, or platysmaplasty, is an effective way for you to eliminate this sagging and regain a more youthful look.
There are three standard types of neck lift techniques. A consultation with Dr. Agullo will help determine which type of neck lift procedure is most appropriate for your situation. Regardless of the procedure, most patients choose general anesthesia, as they choose to combine with other procedures as well. The options available to you will depend on your individual situation and your ultimate treatment goals.
This procedure is best for patients who have a lot of excess skin but do not require any removal of fatty tissue. This is typical of patients who have recently lost a major amount of weight. For this procedure, Dr. Agullo makes an incision just behind or underneath each ear. He repositions the skin and then removes the excess. If necessary, he will remove any fatty tissues and tighten the underlying muscle. The site will be closed with sutures that will usually be removed seven days after surgery.
Neck liposuction can be performed alone for patients without significant sagging and whose skin still has the elasticity to form to the neck after fat removal. This procedure involves the use of a cannula (a small suction device) to remove fat from your lower face, neck, and chin. Dr. Agullo will insert it through small incisions along your neck in order to specifically target areas to remove excess fatty tissue.
A combination procedure is most effective for patients who need excess fat removed, and it will require the surgical removal of extra skin. Dr. Agullo uses both liposuction and removal of excess skin to smooth and define your facial contours.
After your procedure, you will have a garment covering your neck for at least three days to one week depending on the degree of swelling. You will experience some soreness and discomfort in your neck and chin, which can be relieved with pain medications if desired. You may experience some degree of bruising as well, this varies from patient to patient. Some swelling will be present, but this should disappear after a couple of weeks. Take it easy for the first few weeks to allow your body to heal.
A neck lift will give your face a more defined contour. By tightening and smoothing the skin under your neck, your jawline is more defined and provides a stronger balance between your facial features. Your results will be permanent as long as you live a healthy lifestyle. Any significant weight gain could cause reversal of the effects of the procedure.
Are you interested in learning more about which neck lift procedure is right for you? Schedule your consultation with Dr. Agullo to discuss your options. Contact our office at (915) 590-7900.

Rhinoplasty can be performed using one of two surgical approaches: an open or closed technique. Here are some of the differences between these two techniques and how to know which one could be better for your needs.
Open rhinoplasty is so named because the surgeon has an open, unobstructed view of the inside of the nose. To have this view, the surgeon places a minor incision at the base of the strip of tissue between the nostrils. This allows the surgeon to separate the skin and open up the nose to freely adjust the nasal structures as desired.
- The surgeon has a clear view of all nasal structures.
- The surgeon has easy access to all the nasal structures.
- The surgeon can perform extensive correction and adjustments.
- Very precise changes are possible.
- There will be a small scar at the base of the nose.
- Scarring is usually not noticeable afterward.
- The procedure takes longer to complete.
- The recovery and healing process can be slower.
Closed rhinoplasty is so named because the surgeon’s view is partially closed off and the skin remains closed on the nose. Instead of making an external incision to open up the nose, the surgeon leaves the skin intact and makes only small incisions inside the nostrils. Through these internal incisions, the surgeon manipulates the nasal tissues and adjusts the shape of the nose.
- There will be no noticeable scarring.
- The procedure is typically shorter.
- The recovery and healing process may be faster.
- The surgeon’s view and access are much more obstructed.
- Many changes are more difficult to accomplish.
- Fewer adjustments are possible.
Choosing Your Rhinoplasty Technique
While all of these factors can affect whether closed or open rhinoplasty is best for you, there are two critical points you should consider above all. First, what changes would you like to make? If you desire certain extensive corrections that are not possible with closed rhinoplasty, you will naturally be guided toward open rhinoplasty. Second, how concerned are you about the possibility of scarring? If the chance of an external scar is objectionable to you, you will naturally be guided toward closed rhinoplasty. Bear in mind that your concerns about scarring should be secondary in importance to the desired adjustments. The scar will not necessarily be noticeable after open rhinoplasty, as any scar may heal so well as to become virtually undetectable even at a close range. Once you have decided how you would like to improve the appearance of your nose, you should schedule your consultation with Dr. Agullo. He will recommend whether open rhinoplasty or closed rhinoplasty will be better for your needs.

Puffy, chubby cheeks can give you a perpetual baby face. Others around you may not take you seriously or may perceive you as overweight simply because of your rounder facial profile. If you’re self-conscious about the appearance of your cheeks, buccal fat pad removal can give you slimmer cheeks. This simple procedure to remove the fatty tissue inside your cheeks can help you look more like an adult and may even make it look as though you’ve lost weight.
The Challenges of Chubby Cheeks
Both of your cheeks have a natural collection of fatty tissue that is called a “buccal fat pad.” In some faces, the buccal fat pads are more pronounced than in other faces. Depending on your facial structure, this may cause the cheeks to appear rounder and fuller in some people compared to others. Your cheeks may continue to appear chubby even if you lose weight or if you’ve maintained a healthy weight your whole life. Unfortunately, social perceptions tend to consider people with chubby cheeks as overweight or younger, and you may find yourself struggling against the perceptions of those around you.
The Buccal Fat Pad Removal Procedure
Buccal fat pad removal is a straightforward procedure that can instantly slim your cheeks. Dr. Agullo will make incisions hidden inside your mouth, through which he will carefully extract the fat pads inside your cheeks. Removing the fat pads requires no external incisions, leaves no scarring, and has only a short recovery time. The result of the procedure is an immediately trimmer face with reduced fullness, the perception of weight loss, and a more defined and sculpted face shape.
The Benefits of Buccal Fat Pad Removal
Buccal fat pad removal creates a noticeably more slender facial appearance. It creates a more balanced look by erasing the roundness that previously made you look more childlike and overweight. Buccal fat pad removal can make it look like you have lost weight recently and is an excellent complement to liposuction or other body contouring procedures. Dr. Agullo can perform this procedure to give you the defined facial contours you desire and eliminate your chubby cheeks for good.

People who have lost a significant amount of weight due to weight fluctuations, pregnancy, and/or aging may have sagging skin and stubborn fat around the abdomen, hips, and flanks. Body lift surgery aims to correct this issue by removing the excess skin and fat and improving body contour. Affected individuals may wonder whether a body lift is worth it and would produce natural-looking results as claimed by its proponents. The incredible promise of a body lift is that with a skilled and experienced surgeon, this procedure CAN provide natural-looking body contours that will help you achieve a sculpted silhouette.
How a Body Lift Improves Body Contour
A body lift can give you the body contours you desire without having to struggle fruitlessly to achieve them on your own through dieting and exercise. The challenge with major weight loss is that despite losing fat, the skin remains stretched out. Depending on the amount of weight lost, excess skin may hang in folds about the body. No matter how much the person exercises, this skin cannot contract to its former state. A body lift is the only way to help, and it does so by trimming away the excess skin and pulling the skin tight against the new body shape, wrapping the body in slimmer contours. The procedure also removes persistent fat from the treated areas. After a body lift removes the hanging skin and excess fat, the abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, and lateral thighs will have a more natural shape.
The Promise of Natural-Looking Results
A lower body lift performed by Dr. Frank Agullo can give you natural-looking results. Dr. Agullo is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, a member of several prestigious surgical societies, and an experienced and dedicated plastic surgeon.
With the body lift procedure, Dr. Agullo focuses on achieving a balanced body shape by sculpting the entire physique. Each procedure is individualized for the patient’s unique frame, build, size, shape, height, and weight. Based on your needs, you may undergo a combination of techniques including liposuction, thigh lift, butt lift, abdominoplasty, circumferential abdominoplasty, and/or fat injections. While there will be some scarring, Dr. Agullo strategically places the incisions in strategically discreet areas so that they can be comfortably hidden by most clothing.
Transform Your Body Shape
Dr. Agullo can dramatically enhance your body contour by performing a body lift to remove excess skin and stubborn fat and pull the remaining tissues taut. The transformation provided by a body lift erases the unnatural appearance of hanging skin folds and reveals an attractively toned body shape and silhouette. Afterward, patients can wear clothing that was previously too small, tight, fitted, or revealing. The body lift procedure can take your body from unbalanced to smooth and give you the natural-looking contours you seek.
Dr. Agullo would be happy to help you complete your weight loss journey by improving your body shape with a personally tailored body lift procedure. To schedule your consultation with Dr. Agullo, please call (915) 590-7900 or complete our online contact form today.

Ear surgery is unique among plastic surgery procedures because it is performed as often for children as it is for adults. However, individuals should take caution to undergo ear surgery only when the timing is right. Depending on your case, the right timing could be as an infant, as a child, or as an adult.
Ear Surgery for Babies
Infants with abnormal-looking ears may be able to receive ear shaping correction. Typically, this is not surgery, but a molding device that is worn around the clock to reshape the ear. However, this is not a common procedure. The timing must be exact, and in most cases, it must be initiated within the baby’s first month of life while the ear cartilage is quite soft and moldable. Choosing to pursue cosmetic ear correction for babies may not be recommended unless there is a severe physical deformity of the ears. As parents must make this decision for their children, parents should consider the future with the present, and whether they are concerned about the possibility of their child enduring teasing from their peers.
Ear Surgery for Children
Ear surgery is commonly performed on children. Children that are under the age of five are still too young, as their ear cartilage is not yet developed enough for the surgery. Children who are five or older may be able to undergo this procedure if they are healthy, not prone to ear infections, communicative, and agreeable to the procedure. Surgery can technically be performed any time after age five, but delaying surgery into the pre-teen or teenage years can put the child at risk of ridicule, teasing, and bullying from their peers. Some children may have already endured teasing and do not know there is a procedure that can improve the appearance of their ears. However, parents should never force their children into undergoing surgery if the child is not amenable. A child that is intellectually and emotionally mature enough to understand the surgery and all that will be required during recovery can make his or her own decision on whether to get ear surgery as a child. A personal and open discussion should be had between the parents and the child to see whether surgery would be a good idea.
Ear Surgery for Adults
Adults who are healthy and free of life-threatening medical conditions can consider ear surgery at any point. Adults with ear deformities may have endured bullying in their youth but were unable to undergo surgery for various reasons. As a child or as an adult, ear surgery should be motivated by a personal desire for improvement, not to please outside influences. Adults can undergo this procedure when they feel prepared and when they are ready to see improvements in the appearance of their ears.
If you are not sure whether you, your child, or your infant should undergo ear surgery, request your consultation with Dr. Frank Agullo. As an experienced plastic surgeon, Dr. Agullo can help you determine whether and when it is best to undergo this procedure. To schedule your appointment, call (915) 590-7900 or contact Dr. Agullo online today.

Many men and women who experience hair loss feel as though they are alone, when in reality, hair loss is a common condition. Hair loss can occur for a variety of reasons in men and women of all ages. If your hair has begun to fall out, there is no need to feel hopeless. The following hair restoration treatments can restore a fuller head of hair and improve your self-confidence and self-image.
Causes of Hair Loss
Androgenic alopecia (AGA) is the most common cause of hair loss. As this genetic condition can affect both genders, it may be called male pattern hair loss (or male pattern baldness) and female pattern hair loss. Male hair loss is far more common than female hair loss, especially as men age. In addition to AGA, hormones and age can contribute to male hair loss. Men in their 50s have a 50 percent chance of having noticeable hair loss.
Female hair loss can be caused by androgenic alopecia as well as other conditions such as alopecia areata, trichotillomania, loose-anagen syndrome, scalp infections, and scarring alopecia. Temporary hair loss is more common in women than men and is usually related to hormonal changes, hypothyroidism, stress, or certain medications.
Getting Treatment for Hair Loss
If you have hair loss, hair restoration treatment methods can help. An accurate diagnosis is essential, especially for women because they are more likely to have alternate causes of hair loss than AGA. Treatment for hair loss includes the following options:
- Medication: Hair loss medicines such as Rogaine® (minoxidil) and Propecia® (finasteride) can be used to treat hair loss.
- PRP: Platelet-rich plasma injections can stimulate hair growth, prevent hair loss, and improve the quality of the hair. The procedure consists of taking a small amount of blood from the patient and processing it to concentrate the platelets. The platelets in the body contain many growth factors, and these are injected into the scalp. The new protocols consist of an injection once a month for four months. The patient can resume normal activity the following day. Research has shown an 80 percent response rate.
- Laser Therapy: Photo-biotherapy can stimulate the hair follicles so that they produce thicker hair, which improves hair volume. This treatment is most beneficial for women who have diffuse hair loss. Low-level laser therapy (HairMax®) can also be used as a non-surgical treatment for male hair loss.
- Camouflage: Creative hair styling and the strategic use of sprays and powders can help conceal hair loss for those with enough hair to support these methods.
- Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) Hair Restoration Surgery: A strip of tissue is removed from the sides or back of the head and split into units of one to four hairs. These are then transplanted to the recipient site through tiny incisions. This technique is best for larger transplants and is the most commonly used hair transplantation procedure.
- Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) Hair Restoration Surgery: Tiny, round incisions are made around hair follicles on the sides or back of the head and removed one at a time. They are then transplanted into the recipient site. This technique is best for smaller areas and is a longer and costlier procedure than FUT.
With the right treatment, hair loss can be corrected and a fuller head of hair can be restored. If your hair is falling out, schedule your consultation with Dr. Frank Agullo for hair restoration treatment. Call (915) 590-7900 or contact Dr. Agullo online to book your appointment today.

Now that many plastic surgery procedures can be personalized for your needs, achieving your ideal body contour has never been more within reach. Dr. Frank Agullo offers the following techniques for tummy tuck surgery, one of which could be exactly what you need to redefine your waistline.
Comprehensive Abdominoplasty (Full Tummy Tuck)
A full tummy tuck smooths out the entire midsection. The incision scar is placed low between the hip bones so that it can be hidden by clothing. During the procedure, Dr. Agullo will tighten the abdominal muscles to produce an internal corset and create a firmer, tighter waistline. He uses the triple plication technique for a “Hollywood Waist.” He not only tightens the rectus muscles, but also the obliques. He will also remove the excess skin and stretch marks as well as stubborn abdominal fat. Part of the procedure often includes relocating the belly button once the excess skin has been removed. Liposuction is included with this procedure and can remove fat from the abdomen, flanks, and back.
- Abdominal wall muscle laxity
- Stretch marks and excess abdominal skin
- Skin and muscle laxity and excess fat in the entire abdominal area
Mini Abdominoplasty (Partial Tummy Tuck)
A partial tummy tuck improves the area below the navel. The incision scar is shorter than it is for a full tummy tuck, but it is located in the same general area above the pubic line. This surgery is shorter and may even be performed under twilight anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. Dr. Agullo will tighten the skin and remove excess fat with liposuction from the lower abdomen to produce a flatter waistline. All improvements are seen in the lower abdomen below the navel.
- No abdominal wall muscle laxity
- Minor skin laxity below the navel
- No excess skin in upper abdomen
- Fat deposits primarily below the navel
Extended Abdominoplasty (Extended Tummy Tuck)
The extended tummy tuck improves the contour of the abdomen as well as the hips. The incision scar extends around to the back, which leads to a longer scar but enables more significant body shape correction. The scar is still easily hidden by bikini or underwear. Dr. Agullo often recommends this technique with high definition and comprehensive abdominoplasties because, in addition to providing the same benefits as a full tummy tuck, it contours the love handles and even provides a lateral thigh lift and mild buttock lift. Due to the complexity of this technique, it is the longest tummy tuck procedure but has a similar recovery time.
- Abdominal wall muscle laxity
- Stretch marks and excess abdominal skin
- Skin and muscle laxity and excess fat in the entire abdominal area
- Laxity in the lateral hips
- Excess skin and fat also in the flanks and love handles
Selecting Your Technique
Patients should select their tummy tuck technique based on the type of correction they need. Here are some general recommendations based on select tummy issues:
- Abdominal fat: liposuction, typically combined with any of the tummy tuck techniques
- Excess skin in the lower abdomen only: mini tummy tuck
- Excess skin and stretch marks in upper and lower abdomen: comprehensive or extended tummy tuck
- Abdominal wall muscle laxity: comprehensive or extended tummy tuck
- Tissue laxity and excess fat that are also in the lateral hips/flanks: extended tummy tuck
With any of these techniques, tummy tuck surgery can give you a more youthful and toned abdominal contour.
You can watch Dr. WorldWide perform these procedures on Snapchat under the username RealDrWorldWide.
Of all the different tummy tuck techniques, only one will be right for you. If you are not certain which technique you need, request your personal consultation with Dr. Frank Agullo. Dr. Agullo can offer his expertise and counsel you in choosing the technique that will yield the best results for you.
