THE NEWEST FDA-CLEARED TECHNOLOGY TO TREAT CELLULITE – AVÉLI™

October 14, 2022 | Cellulite Treatment

2 Minute Read:

Do you have cellulite? You’re not alone. In fact, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, about 85% of women have cellulite. But there’s finally a new treatment that can help. It’s called Avéli™, the newest FDA-cleared technology for long-term treatment of the appearance of cellulite. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting new treatment.

WHAT IS CELLULITE?

Cellulite is the dimpling effect on the skin, typically around the thighs and buttocks. It is produced by three factors:

  • Fat forms and pushes against the skin, creating superficial bumpiness
  • Fibers that pull on the skin and cause it to dimple
  • Thin skin makes these factors easier to show through

Although it’s not a medical condition, many people feel self-conscious about their cellulite and are looking for ways to improve the appearance of their skin. While there are many treatments available, most are only temporary solutions.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Unlike other procedures that target the outer layers of the skin, the Avéli™ treatment uses a hand-held device guided by a trained provider. This method allows the device to manually target and release the bands that cause excessive fat buildup from the inside out.

  • The treatment area is first marked
  • The Avéli™device is guided directly under the skin to the targeted areas.
  • Once Dr. Agullo or one of his experienced advanced nurses has identified the cause of the band causing the appearance of a dimple, those bands are immediately released. This process allows the device to deliver visibly smoother and more even skin immediately.
  • A typical treatment takes about 30 to 60 minutes. Smoother skin in the procedure area is visible shortly after a single in-office procedure once swelling and bruising subside.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS?

The side effects of Avéli™ are usually mild and temporary. Some common side effects patients experienced during the treatment were mild pain and tenderness to the touch, which usually resolved within 30 days. Some of them went back to their regular activities the following day.

IS AVÉLI™ EFFECTIVE?

Yes! Avéli™ is FDA-cleared for long-term reduction in the appearance of cellulite in the buttocks and thigh areas of adult females. Patients in the clinical study demonstrated a reduction in the appearance of their cellulite when assessed one year after the procedure.

  • Long-term cellulite reduction
  • Minimally invasive procedure
  • Single in-office visit
  • Meaningful results visible quickly
