The most rewarding part of any plastic surgery procedure is the moment when you see your final results. Butt augmentation is no different. You invested a great deal of time and money and even took on some risk to get the body that you desire. So what happens when the results fall short of your expectations?

A butt augmentation revision is a secondary body contouring procedure used to improve the appearance and contours of the butt after a butt augmentation. You may consider a butt augmentation revision if you:

  • Would like to add more volume to you butt
  • Notice asymmetry or lumps on the buttock
  • Feel like you buttock implants are noticeable
  • Experience pain or discomfort when performing everyday activities
  • Are experiencing implant complications

If any of these issues apply to you, a butt augmentation revision may be the right solution for you. Depending on your goals, there are a variety of options for your correction, including:

Fat Transfer

One of the most popular butt augmentation techniques is the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), which uses liposuction and fat transfer to augment the buttocks. Some patients who have gotten a BBL may notice asymmetry or lumps in the buttocks. This can be caused when a BBL is not performed correctly, and fat is retained in some areas better than others.

Fat transfer can be used to smooth the surface of the buttocks and restore volume to the areas that have become sunken or lumpy. A fat transfer can also be used to add volume around butt implants and create a smoother look to conceal the implants more effectively.

Butt Lift

Due to the natural course of aging or weight fluctuations, some patients may notice some skin sagging in the buttocks area. A buttock lift will improve the contours of the buttocks by removing excess tissue and tightening the skin.

Buttock Implants or Exchange

Buttock implants are extremely useful in achieving more gluteal projection when sufficient fat is not available. By placing the implants within the gluteal muscles, many of the complications like flipping, palpation, and sagging are avoided.

Implant exchange is used to replace the original implants that were inserted during your butt augmentation with new ones of your choosing. There are a few reasons why a patient might want to have an implant exchange, such as:

  • Complications with the implant
  • Wrong positioning of the implant
  • A desire to change implant size or shape

Non-surgical Butt Augmentation

If you are only experiencing mild volume loss or asymmetry in your buttocks, non-surgical butt enhancement techniques can be used to restore volume with little to no downtime. Non-surgical butt enhancement utilizes a combination of the dermal filler Sculptra® Aesthetic and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). These injections add volume and smooth the skin to create a slightly fuller and rounder butt.

Cellfina®

A butt augmentation will add shape and volume to the buttocks, but it cannot correct the cellulite’s appearance. Cellfina® is a non-surgical procedure that reduces the appearance of cellulite after a butt augmentation.

Evolve Tone and Evolve Tite

Another non-surgical option to tone the buttock and increase size is Evolve Tone. By using electromagnetic stimulation (EMS), Evolve Tone activates the gluteus maximus muscle thousands of times in half an hour—the equivalent of months of squats in the gym!

Evolve Tite uses radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin, making it appear smoother and younger.

These treatments can be used separately or in combination with no downtime.
