People ask me this every week: how much is lipo and a tummy tuck together? My prices are on the fees page. Here is how to read them.
“Flank lipo is bundled in, not priced on top. This is why a combined case comes in below the two line items added together.”
That one sentence is most of the answer. The rest is below.
The Bands, As of This Writing
What does liposuction cost right now?
As of this writing, the liposuction bands on my fees page are: flanks $4,000; abdomen $5,500 to $7,500; 360 $11,000 to $15,000; and “Lipo, Lipo, Everywhere” $15,000 to $21,500. Confirm the current number there before you plan around it.
The tummy tuck band sits at $16,000 to $26,000, which I covered on its own in the tummy tuck cost post. Here they are side by side.

These are starting prices and they are all-inclusive: the surgical facility, anesthesia, garments, vitamins and scar care are in the number. Your prescriptions at the pharmacy are the only thing on you. Prices change, and when they do the fees page changes first, so confirm there before you plan around this table.
What Moves a Lipo Quote Within Its Band
The abdomen band runs $5,500 to $7,500. Where you land inside it is not a mystery.
What drives the price within a band?
Dr. Agullo: “The number of liposuction sites performed. How long the surgery takes, since that determines the cost of the operating room and anesthesia. Adding skin tightening (BodyTite or Renuvion J-Plasma) adds both cost and time.”
Three levers. More sites, more time, more technology. Every one of them is something I can walk you through in the exam room before you ever see a number, which is the point of publishing the bands in the first place.
What Moves a Tummy Tuck Quote Up
The tummy tuck band is wider, $16,000 to $26,000, because the operation itself has more versions.
What moves a patient up the tummy tuck band?
Dr. Agullo: “The exact type of tummy tuck required, which often tracks the incision length: mini, standard, extended, or circumferential. Expected time in the operating room, since that influences anesthesia and OR cost. That time is often determined by the complexity of the case and the patient’s BMI.”
And every tummy tuck I do includes liposuction of the abdomen and flanks. That is factored into the band, not added to it.
Mini at the bottom. Circumferential at the top. Between them, the time the case is expected to take, and BMI is the most honest predictor of that. The triple plication I do inside every tummy tuck is part of the standard operation, not a line item.
Is Liposuction Included in a Tummy Tuck? Yes.
This is the detail that breaks most people’s spreadsheet. They price a tummy tuck, price abdominal lipo, price flank lipo, add the three, and arrive at a number I would never quote.
Is flank lipo bundled into the tummy tuck?
Dr. Agullo: “Yes. Flank lipo is bundled in, not priced on top. This is why a combined case comes in below the two line items added together.”
All of my tummy tucks include liposuction on the abdomen and on the flanks. I do it because a tummy tuck without contouring the sides looks like a tummy tuck, and I would rather it look like a waist. So when someone asks me how much lipo and a tummy tuck cost together, the answer starts at the tummy tuck band, not at the tummy tuck band plus the lipo band.
Where the number does climb is when we go beyond the abdomen and flanks. Which brings us to the add-ons.
Skin Tightening Is an Add-On, and the Device Depends on the Area
Does Renuvion J-Plasma cost extra?
Dr. Agullo: “Skin tightening is an add-on that increases cost and time. The practice offers a family of radiofrequency devices, chosen by body area: BodyTite: radiofrequency with both an internal and external component. Renuvion J-Plasma: radiofrequency plus a helium plasma component; works internally only (subdermal). FaceTite: used on the neck. Many patients combine liposuction with skin tightening.”
Arms and inner thighs get BodyTite. The neck gets FaceTite. Almost everywhere else gets Renuvion J-Plasma, which I have used since 2019 and now use almost every day. The reason I reach for it so often is simple.
“I saw a missing need after liposuction, which was skin tightening. We were able to perform liposuction effectively, but after deflating the subcutaneous tissue layer, many patients were left with loose skin, which required surgical excision. When we began using Renuvion, we noticed that the tissues would contract, and oftentimes the surgical excision of excess skin was not necessary anymore.”
“Renuvion J-Plasma activates helium plasma and radiofrequency in the subcutaneous layers, making the connective tissue underneath shrink and contract, resulting in skin tightening and a smoother result. The helium plasma is important because it keeps the temperatures cool, which avoids burning.”
So yes, it costs extra. It also, in the right patient, is the difference between liposuction alone and liposuction plus a skin excision later. That is a trade I explain in the consult, with the number attached.
The Combination Most Patients Actually Book
What are the common tummy tuck combinations?
Dr. Agullo: “Most common of all, with its own name: the MOMMY MAKEOVER. A tummy tuck with liposuction, plus some kind of breast procedure, whether a breast augmentation, a breast reduction, or a breast lift. Adding more liposuction sites: upper back, lateral chest, arms, inner thighs, and neck. Adding a BBL or fat transfer to the buttocks to improve the hip and buttock contour.”
I do a mommy makeover three or four times in a typical week, which makes it the combined case I see more than any other, and it got its own cost post a while back because the breast half of it has far more moving parts (implant or no implant, lift or no lift, reduction) than the abdominal half does. The same goes for adding fat transfer to the buttock, which is why there is a separate BBL cost post rather than a paragraph here.
What all of these combinations share is one anesthesia, one operating room booking and one recovery period, and that shared overhead is the reason a combined quote comes in under what you would get by pricing each operation on its own day.
“Why Is My Quote Higher Than the Website?”
Of all the questions I get in writing, this is the one that shows up most, usually the day after the consult, usually worded politely, and always a fair thing to ask. Here is what is going on.
Why does a quote come back higher than the published band?
Dr. Agullo: “Baseline: if nothing else is added and the surgery is not expected to take longer than the standard time, the quote matches the website.”
“Common reason a quote runs higher: the patient wants liposuction in more areas to improve the overall body contour, frequently adding the upper back and the lateral chest. Those areas especially benefit from adding Renuvion J-Plasma. This makes the procedure longer (more OR and anesthesia time) and adds the cost of the additional procedures and areas themselves. So the base price holds, but added zones plus skin tightening lift the final quote.”
That answer is the whole mechanism, so it is worth reading twice. The number on the website describes the operation as published. When we add the upper back and the lateral chest to the plan, and then run Renuvion over those areas to tighten the skin, the case has become both longer and bigger than the one the website priced, and the quote reflects that. The band itself has not moved anywhere. The case did.
Who Is a Candidate for the Combined Case
Good skin and stubborn fat: liposuction alone. Loose skin, stretch marks below the navel, muscles that have separated: tummy tuck. After pregnancy or major weight loss, most people have some of both. That is why the combined case is the common one, and why the tummy tuck already carries the lipo inside it.
One warning. Do not compare my all-in band to a surgeon’s fee somewhere else. A surgeon’s fee is not a price. The facility and anesthesia bills come later.
The Other Side: The Cheap Quote
I revise tummy tucks from other surgeons, in the United States and across the border, more often than I would like. The revision costs more than the original surgery would have here, and the result is usually not what it could have been the first time.
“A bargain that costs you a revision, or your health, is not a bargain at all.”
If a price is far below the market, ask what is missing. The surgeon’s experience, the facility’s accreditation, the anesthesia, the follow-up care. Something is.
